Ashley Richards has worked at Village Montessori School since 2015. Starting out as a volunteer, she then hired on as an afternoon daycare aide, then senior staff/teacher in the 2 Year Old Program. Ashley is now a lead teacher in the Two Year Old Program. She genuinely enjoys working with children. Ashley has a Senior Staff/Teacher credential.
Both of Ashley’s children attended VMS. When she is not at school taking care of children, Ashley loves spending time with her family and friends, coaching softball and enjoys shopping in her spare time.
Julie Plunkett

Julie Plunkett was born and raised in Montgomery County. She has been teaching two year olds for ten years and has enjoyed working with them each and every day. In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her loving husband and step son, especially camping and hiking.
Karuna Yarramneni

Karuna Yarramneni has worked with children since 2010, joining VMS in 2023. Although she holds a Masters degree in finance, Karuna chose to become an early childhood educator and holds a Maryland child care credential, level 4. In addition, she holds a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition. In her spare time, Karuna loves spending time with her family, and gardening.
Thushani Silva

Thushani Silva has been working in childcare since 2014. In 2022, she joined Village Montessori school. She has a level 3 Maryland childcare credential.
She loves to spend time with family and loves to bake. She enjoys listening to music as well.
Yadira Escobar

Yadira Escobar received a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering in her home country of Honduras. She moved to the United States and now has the opportunity to pursue her passion: working with children. Yadira spent this past summer at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies as an adult learner. She will do her student teaching this school year.
Yadira is married and during her free time she enjoys being a tourist, visiting interesting places.
Yasmin Coreas Granados

Montessori Two Year Old Program

Yasmin Coreas-Granados started working at Village Montessori School in 2023 as a classroom aide. Before joining VMS, Yasmin gained early childcare experience by babysitting her infant nephew. She had always wanted to work with children and is very pleased to be doing so now.
In her free time, Yasmin enjoys spending time with her sisters and going to the gym with friends. She also just enjoys spending time alone, listening to music.
