VMS is seeking a Toddler teacher to support a group of up to twelve 2 year olds, with the a Montessori teacher and another teacher/aide. While experience in a Montessori classroom is preferred, applicants without this experience will still be considered.  This position is available immediately, or beginning August 2025. This individual should be able to work effectively with their own team and in tandem with another team of Toddler teachers and children to create a positive, warm and peaceful environment.

Applicants must respect children, being patient, affectionate and understanding toward them, practicing the Montessori methodology when interacting with and guiding the children in their care.  Applicants must utilize effective communication skills when interacting with students' parents, school leadership and other staff.  

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess the following credentials, at a minimum:

• 45 hour Child Development
• 45 hour Infant/Toddler Curriculum/Methods & Materials
• 9 hour Communication (or one year of college)
• All Children & the ADA
• Basic Health & Safety Training with Breastfeeding 

Staff at VMS are provided paid Sick & Safe and Personal Time Off, as well as paid holidays, winter and spring breaks, professional days, and emergency weather closure days. Staff receive full scholarship for their child(ren) while enrolled at VMS. Teachers enjoy paid one hour lunch breaks outside of the classroom as a part of their work day. Up to 12 hours of continuing education are reimbursed yearly.  Enrollment in the school's 401k plan is available after one year of employment; VMS pays all 401k administration fees.
